In a culture screaming "more"—more productivity, more achievement, more hustle—God whispers "rest." The Israelites, freed from Egyptian slavery where their value equaled their output, needed to learn a revolutionary truth: their worth wasn't in their work. God placed rest at the center of creation's story, a treasure map pointing to His sustaining power. Jesus offers the same invitation: "Come to me and find rest for your souls." Rest isn't laziness; it's trust. When we rest, we declare that God is our provider, not our efforts. We're human beings, not human doings. What are you striving for that God wants you to surrender? True rest comes when we stop trying to earn what Christ already accomplished. Sabbath is rebellion against a performance-driven world.
