Thursday
James 1:2-4, Romans 5:3-5
Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.
The sermon mentioned how some believers fall away when faced with trouble or persecution. Today's readings remind us that trials can actually strengthen our faith when we persevere. Reflect on a difficult season in your life. How did it impact your relationship with God? Did it drive you closer to Him or push you away? Ask God for the strength to stand firm in future challenges, knowing that He can use even our hardships to deepen our faith and character. Consider how you might encourage a fellow believer who is currently facing trials.
